Plenty of riders are still out there plugging around the backcountry in snowshoes with boards strapped to their packs. A few have made a craft out of hacking old boards with skill saws and sealing up their own makeshift epoxied split-boards. You’ve probably had any number of epic backcountry days with your own custom creation, but the garage shop curiosity of a split-board might not be “close enough” to the real thing anymore. Jeremy Jones and Jones Snowboards are taking the concept and manufacturing of true performance backcountry snowboards to another level.

Whether you are going Deeper or Further beyond the confines of the resort. These boards are just Better. Jones is adapting some of the best design elements and materials across the board from touring to snowsliding in order to construct real functional and technical performance gear.

The Hovercraft Split:

  • Nose rocker
  • Traditional camber
  • Magne-traction
  • Lightweight and durable construction
  • Shorter but stiffer tail section

I’d say he’s got some experience with this equipment in situations where performance matters, and it looks like he’s going with what works.
