The crowd surrounding the main stage at the 2009 Brew, Jazz and Funk Festival

Wonderlust is to yogis as Brews, Jazz and Funk is to beer drinkers.

Forget Outside Lands. This weekend, August 13 and 14th, thousands of red nosed partygoers will decend on The Village for Squaw Valley’s premier drinking event of the year, the annual Brews, Jazz, and Funk Festival.  This year marks the festivals 10th anniversary and is sure to get you f&*%ed up and bustin’ dance moves you wouldn’t normally do in public.

Up to 20 breweries will be in attendence and headliners THE METERS experience (Saturday) and Zero (Sunday) can jam with the best of them.

Festivities start at 2pm both days and run through 8, followed by what I’m sure will be numerous after parties.  Dogs are allowed, entry is a $5 donation to the Truckee-Tahoe Humane Society and beers are $4 bucks a pop. Go get some!

Beer vendors include Big Sky, Deschutes, Eel River, Feather Falls, Fossil Fuels, Franziskaner, Full Sail, Gordon Birsch, Great Basin, Lagunitas, Lockdown, Mad River, Mammoth, Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, Spaten, Stone, Sudwerks, and Trumer.

The full music lineup is as follows:

Saturday

6PM – THE METERS experience Featuring Leo Nocentelli, Guitarist, of The Meters with Bassist Bill ‘the Buddha’ Dickens and Drummer Jamal Batiste
4 PM – Walter “Wolfman” Washington & The Roadmasters
2 PM – Mike Mangan’s Big Organ Trio

2ND STAGE: Monophonics

Sunday

6 PM – Zero
4 PM – Papa Grows Funk
2 PM – Tim Snider Quartet

2ND STAGE: Eric Lindel
