Lake Tahoe Levels:

– Today, July 7th, 2011 the lake level was 5 feet above the lakes natural high water mark at 6,228.24 feet

– Maximum lake level supposed to occur in about two weeks (approximately July 21st, 2011)

– 1995’s maximum lake level happened later than this year’s likely will at August 8th, 2011

– Tahoe’s lake level has been rising since March

– Lake Tahoe rose .05 feet between July 6th and 7th, which is a huge increase for a 24hr period

“There’s still a lot of snow up there in spots,” Blanchard said, noting electronic measurements at Independence Lake, near Truckee, show the equivalent of 44 inches of water, 580 percent of the average water content for the area this time of year. –tahoedailytribune.com
