Yosemite Nation Park announced Wednesday that Tioga Pass Road is going to OPEN in it’s entirety on Saturday, June 18th, 2011 at 8am. There’ll be a buncha “no-stopping zones” because they weren’t able to plow the road wide enough to accommodate any kinda of shoulder in many spots. I can’t wait to see it, it’s gonna be damn near a tunnel in spots.
Tuolumne Meadows is still buried in feet of snow. There really won’t be any “hiking” to enjoy unless you’re a skier. If you’re a skier/boarder, you’re gonna be feeling effervescent. If you aren’t completely over winter yet, then this is the place you wanna be.
