Today things were a little on the warm side in Chamonix, but that meant corn snow was available in abundance. Heading to the resort of le Tour, Dave Greenleaf and myself were able to find some very fun runs, and finished the day off with a ski down the Point du Von couloir which takes you down to a little town called Trient in Switzerland! (though conditions were less than ideal once we were in the couloir) All the runs were accessed via a combination of boot pack and traversing…no skins needed! Conditions held up fairly well throughout the day, though directly south facing aspects proved a little on the unstable side – we triggered a number of wet surface slabs and in a few zones things had slid all the way to the ground.
