Wendell Field Gallery Opening Friday at 6

Okay bar crowd, this is the weekend that you’ve probably been waiting for. All of those hard core skiers riders finally have the mid-season high pressure blues and are more likely to focus on the bars than the slopes this weekend. Although a north westerly flow should return by the end of the weekend, significant snowfall probably wont pick up until later next week. So, here are some of this weeks highlights, in no particular order.

Friday February 4, 6-9PM: Wendell Field Gallery Opening, Factory Studios. Free. Check out the Wendell Field’s art opening at the recently opened Factory Studios on 1255 Gregory Lane. Culture, food, and booze- a perfect evening. factorystudios.org

Friday February 4, 10PM: Elephant Revival with Head for the Hills. Town Square Tavern. Get your swerve on with the folk/bluegrass/rock sounds of Elephant Revival. If you’re really trying to tie one on you’re probably going to end up at the Tavern anyway, so why not get there early.

Saturday February 5, 5-7PM: Zumba Mechanics w/ Liz Martinez. Dance Workshops Jackson Hole $20. Embarrassed about your dance moves from last night? Kick down some cash and learn how to effectively engage your muscles during class as well as execute intricate and unusual moves, like the Belly-Dance hips, the Bachata, and Samba. You’ll be impressing those cowboys/cowgirls in no time! Info: school@dwjh.org

Saturday February 5, 8PM: Laff Staff Improv Groove. Center for the Arts. Check out the workings of this improv group, a la “Whose Line is it Anyway.” Good times and likely far more wholesome than most of the other activities I listed here. www.jhcenterforthearts.org

Saturday February 5, 10PM: DJ Spartan. Town Square Tavern. Town Square Tavern is prime territory for drunk dancing. Go practice those newly learned moves in front of like-minded drunkards. If you’re anything like me though, you’ll probably need a few cocktails first. Luckily the tavern has you covered in that department.
