If you are looking for Thai food in Telluride, Siam is the place to go. Not only is it Telluride’s only dedicated Thai restaurant, but it is REALLY good as well! And not just for a tiny mountain community. Siam is good for anywhere. The restaurant is located in a small old house on the corner of Davis and Pacific in Telluride’s west end. It is a nice, cozy space with comfortable seating, a sweet bar, and an awesome porch! More on the porch in a bit….
Siam has a HUGE menu offering everything from traditional Thai dishes like Pad Thai and spicy curries to an assortment of unique fusion dishes. For appetizers, you can’t go wrong with the Satay, the Siam rolls, or my favorite, the Ka Nom Jeep. These are Thai-style dumplings with crabmeat and ground chicken in them. I like mine pan fried and they are delicious! For entrees, everything I have had is awesome and my favorite is their Drunken Noodles. This is a stir-fry style dish served with wide, rice noodles, mixed veggies, and a spicy brown sauce. I like to get it spicy with beef. Perfect heat! Their Pad Thai is really good, I would say above average and definitely a safe bet. The various curries are awesome as well as some of their fusion dishes. These entrees can be ordered with ingredients such as duck breast, wild salmon, shrimp, whole tsunami fish, local elk and beef, free range chicken, soft shell crab, and lobster. Not bad at all!

So back to the porch. Siam’s porch scene is a wonderful thing during the warmer months in Telluride. They have great live music during the week and some awesome specials. Their “porch special” is a drink and an entree for less than $10 until 6:30ish. Really sweet but unfortunately this deal is only during the summer months.
