This year Burton released a new model called the Whammy Bar.  It’s a super sick board that is designed for more Park riding then anything else.  It performs well all over the mountain, but it has some features that make it really excel in the Park area.  First off, Burton did a limited edition of the Whammy Bar with a Bob Marley graphic.  Burton worked with the Marley Foundation to come up with the graphic.  Super stoked on this thing!  I might need to get it just for the art!  A couple of the features that make it great for the park is the Mid Spoon, Negative Core profile and V-Rocker.  The Mid Spoon is a slight convex shape between your legs that allows the board to glide over rails and boxes, making it less of a chance to catch your edge.  It also gives the board more of a loose, skate feel.  The Negative Core Profile means that there is a thinner core between your bindings, allowing the board to feel softer while still holding a great edge!  Add all of this to the V-Rocker and you’ve got yourself a awesome park board.  The V-Rocker is a constant rocker shape from the middle of the board out to the tip and tail.  It helps you with butters and jibs in the park, but if you do encounter some pow, it’s gonna float right on top!  If you have the chance to try this board out, I would definitely give it a whirl.  It’s one of the best park boards that I’ve demoed in a long time!  Chiggity check it out!
