Our buddy Phil Hoban took a bad crash after losing a ski in The Fingers on New Years Day. Â Squaw Ski patrol rocked it and got him the best care possible and got his ass to Reno fast. Â Phil broke one of the vertebrae in his neck. Â He underwent surgery yesterday and I was lucky enough to go see him in the hospital a few hours after the proceedure. Â The surgery went perfectly and he’s expected to make a full recovery.
Phil is a great guy, one of the GNAR competitors, a local ripper, and someone I’ve been good friends with for a long time. Â His presence will be missed on the mountain this year. Â But with our support and some solid physical therapy, he’ll be out making us all look bad again next season.
