Update from Miles Clark

I´m headed out to refugio Frey tomorrow, September 27th, 2009.- Frey is a backcountry hut located in the mountains just outside the town of Bariloche in Argentine Patagonia.- The hut is situated at about 5,800 feet on a small mountain lake called Toncek.- In front of the hut is an impressive alpine amphitheater of needles and spires that top out at 7,800 feet.- This amphitheater harbors an impressive slew of couloirs, broad powder fields and technical descents to choose from.- I will be spending 4 days at Frey getting to know the terrain, the hut and the estranged skiers that have found themselves there.- I know that this will be yet another bizzare and amazing Argentine experience and a solid lesson in Patagonian backcountry skiing.- Not to mention the perfect way to finish my 9 month tour of South America.
