March Madness | Brandon Craddock

March 25th, 2014 by

Everyone in Tahoe was hoping for a ‘Miracle March’ when it was really just ‘March Madness’. It was pretty bad but pretty good at the same time, it was a weird one.

Film Locations: Squaw Valley/Mt. Rose backcountry

Official Mountain Report:

“We are now OPEN DAILY for the 13/14 season! We picked up 20 inches of snow on upper mountain last weekend and the cold weather is keeping the snow soft and dry. There’s still a lot of powder out there and High Campbell will be the place to find it tomorrow!

Wednesday Forest Queen and High Campbell will join the Gondola, Green Valley and Rainier Express lifts in daily operations. Hours are 9am-3pm (last upload on the gondola is 2pm, last chair is 2:30pm, last download on the gondola is 3pm). Tickets are discounted to $50. Thursday we’ll add Chinook Express and Southback (oh my!), and this Saturday we’re planning to open Northway! We’re making snow in the base area and will try to open the Discovery chair for beginners this weekend. The coverage below mid-mountain is still thin with exposed brush so ski and ride with caution as you approach the base area.” - crystalmountainresort.com

Best POV in a long long while | Bring the Alta | Jarrett Smith 2013 Edit

December 3rd, 2013 by

Jarrett Smith and his buddies have put out a few great edits in the last year or two under the Frothing Grommets label. The first 0:40 does not have too much going on, then the fellas show you how to Bring the Alta. I love the crashes at the beginning and the high energy skiing throughout. Since it is finally snowing in LCC this season I thought it would be a good day to bust this out. Enjoy!

The air off Pirate Rock at 2:00 is sick!

4:45 is also big enough to make most freeskiers wet their baggy ass pants;)
