ATMOSPHERIC RIVER HEADED FOR THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THIS WEEK! SEVERAL FEET WILL FALL ABOVE 10,000 FEET WITH RIVER FLOODING LIKELY AT LOWER ELEVATIONS. NOAA IS FORECASTING 50-70 INCHES OF SNOW FOR MOUNT RAINIER THIS WEEK (UPPER ELEVATIONS). WOO HOO.

SYSTEMS WILL DROP SOUTH INTO CALIFORNIA BEFORE EVENTUALLY MOVING EAST THROUGH THE ROCKIES. THE SIERRA ALSO GETS ACTION UP HIGH. SNOW LEVELS WILL STAY HIGH BRINGING RAIN TO MOST RESORT BASES AND SOME UPPER ELEVATION SNOWFALL. IF THIS WERE MID WINTER YOU WOULD BE LOOKING AT AN EPIC EVENT FOR ALL SKI AREAS! GIVE IT ANOTHER FEW MONTHS AND WE WILL BE IN THE WHITE ROOM!
