NASA is pitching in space-age materials to help better equip emergency fire shelters to help save our brave firefighters lives. After a deadly 2013 fire in Yarnell Hill, Arizona, NASA Langley Research Center signed an agreement with the U.S. Forest Service to see if materials with incredible heat tolerances they have developed for space travel could improve the structures used by firefighters seeking refuge when being overrun by wildfire.  We love our firefighters here at Unofficial and are huge supporters of keeping them safe using any means possible. Very cool!
