A woman is dead after falling into a tree well at Whistler Blackcomb reports CTV News. According to the report, the woman was skiing with her husband in the Seventh Heaven zone on Blackcomb when their paths diverged and the husband lost sight of his wife.

After realizing she was nowhere to be found, a search and rescue effort was mobilized. Before rescue personnel could locate the victim, a civilian found the woman in a tree well. She was unconscious. Rescue personnel arrived on the scene shortly after and attempted to revive the woman. Their attempts were unsuccessful.
