A massive winter storm is building in the Pacific and headed for California. The storm is forecasted to drop a copious amount of snowfall on the Sierra over the next week to week and a half. 

NOAA has released this video detailing the approaching weather.

Needless to say, it’s going to be a snowy few weeks in Tahoe. Each system will be getting progressively cooler so snow quality should improve early next week with lighter snow on top the heavier stuff.  Some forecasts are calling for as much as 5-10 feet of snow through the end of next week.
