An official inquest has found that 18-year-old Kieron Flux died from hypothermia after becoming disoriented following a pub crawl at a French ski resort.
Flux had gone missing after a night out at the Val d’Isère resort in January of this year. A friend said in a statement that they had initially joined a pub crawl organized by the tour company reps. After they had been to four bars, he became separated from Flux and ended up coming back to the group’s chalet alone.
The father of the teenager said in a statement, that after spending the following morning on the slopes he returned to discover his son had not come back. He then notified the chalet rep who contacted police.
Police found footage of Flux getting on to a shuttle bus alone and getting off at the wrong stop on the opposite side of town. His body was later found by a search helicopter.
Flux’s father said that the boy was “frozen solid.”
Recording a verdict of death by misadventure, it was determined that the cause to be death was hypothermia contributed to by intoxication.
