Magpie River journey start at Magpie Lake in eastern Quebec province. The whitewater on the Magpie River grows in difficulty until you reach the challenge of Class V rapids downriver from the spectacular Magpie Falls. Camping on the river at night, travelers can often catch a glimpse of the of the aurora borealis (northern lights).

#4. Yampa River, Colorado

The Yampa River, located in Dinosaur National Monument, is the last undammed tributary of the Colorado River system. Sometimes described as a “Little Grand Canyon,” the Yampa River is a true gem.
