How crazy is this!? A Norwegian skydiver records of a meteorite mid-flight.

It was only after skydiver Anders Helstrup looked at his footage did he realize that he had almost gotten taken out by a rock from outer space. Helstrup eventually took the film to the University of Oslo. The scientists there confirmed that, indeed, it was a meteorite plunging into Earth at terminal velocity, a stage called dark flight.

“After the transformation of its kinetic energy and its total deceleration, the surviving meteorite falls only by the Earth’s gravitation without the emission of light, a period known as dark flight.” – imo.net
