Mont Blanc Tunnel has been closed several times in recent days due to a number of landslides on the Italian side. In the village of La Palud landslides have forced 80 people from their homes.
20,000 cubic meters of mud and rock has already fallen but experts believe that this is only the start to the landslides and that 400,000 cubic meters could come down.
Rising temperatures are the main cause though the area is known to be extremely fragile. Above is a video of a recent landslide in the area.
