ICE USA ski poles are probably the best poles ever made. Unfortunately, the company is long gone and they are pretty hard to come by now. I have had mine for years and they are as still as good as new! ICE USA poles are some of the strongest and stiffest carbon graphite ski poles I have seen. They were made in Park City, Utah and were used by some of the biggest names in the sport like Glen Plake and Jonny Moseley.

I have the President Cigar model which features the “cigar” bubble 1/3 of the way down the pole. This placement is at the poles weakest point and provides added strength. These are definitely really burly poles and are still relatively light weight. Another nice feature of all ICE USA poles is the plastic sleeve above the basket. This sleeve provides added protection against ski edges and increases durability. For baskets, I use the Leki Snowflake basket and it fits perfect. These are a good sized powder basket and are made of a soft plastic so they are very resistant to cracking or breaking, something that plagued the original ICE USA baskets.

It is really too bad this company went out of business because they really made an awesome product. I don’t think there’s a ski pole worthy on the market today. It will be a sad day when I need to replace mine.

Completely agree. Unfortunately I broke one over my arm and the other was stolen when I was using it mismatched with another pole. They are a hot commodity. Sick poles

I’ve had my “All Terrain” Ice poles for several years now & just lost the tip on one of them. My ski shop put one in but the tube is a bit larger than the new tip. Probably won’t stay in place very long. Guess I’ll need to look for a more permanent fix for next season.

Who buys poles anymore? I have an old pair of Scott grips that have now been on multiple rental poles and they do the job just fine.

Lieki Snowflakes work well as a replacement.
Soak the tip in boiling water for 10 min, then put the tip on a wood block, and snug up an adgustable wrench above the basket and give it a hit with a hammer. Came right off. Twist the new ones on while the sleeve is still hot, using the grip for twisting traction.
