The Rockies have been seeing quite a bit more snow the second half of the season.  Over the past week Steamboat, CO has seen 7 inches bringing the season total to 203 inches, Telluride, CO 11 inches bringing the season total to 183 inches, Snowbird, UT 21 inches bringing the season total to 237 inces, and Jackson Hole, WY 17 inches bringing the season total to 292 inches.

The snow will continue as the big storm hitting Tahoe moves East brining lesser amounts to the Rockies.  The snow will fall for all areas from Montana down to Colorado on Thursday, and then will taper off from North to South on Friday.  Expecting 4-8 inches up near Jackson, WY and 6-12+ inches from Steamboat down to Telluride in Colorado.  The highest amounts will fall to the East of Tahoe in Utah where 20-30 inches are expected to fall around Park City and Snowbird.

A weak system will work through the Northern Rockies on Saturday bringing maybe a couple of inches.  The next system moves in on Tuesday.  This storm looks like it will bring the highest amounts to Jackson with 6-12 inches possible.  Lesser amounts of a few inches look possible down into Utah and then a general 3-6 inches into Colorado.

Overall forecast models show 1-2 inches of precipitation over the next week in the yellow.  These areas will see around 1-2 feet of snow over the next week in total.

Long-range models are suggesting that more storms move into the West coast starting the Saturday the 10th and through the following week.  Those storms would spread more snow East into the Rockies that week.  Overall the active pattern with snowfall every few days looks to continue for now.  BA
