After a great weekend of deep, deep powder skiing Washington’s Birthday is celebrated by lapping up the dirty seconds and trying to recapture the glory that was the last couple of days.  The only mis-step in the conditions is POWDER with a high chance of running into complete morons in the backcountry……seriously if you can’t make a pow turn on a 25 degree slope you should not be climbing any mountains without supervision or professional guidance, go back to the ski area now, your existence makes other people’s lives increasingly dangerous.

Very dangerous conditions in the backcountry today.  With a HIGH AVY danger and huge windloading from the big storm that brought us 30 inches of new snow in 2 days there are large pockets of unstable snow especially grouping up in and around the large convexities.

Be Careful, stay safe, and ski another day.
