Bozeman, Montana — Delta will keep climbing up its number of ski routes for next winter.

Last week, Delta Airlines announced a few new routes starting later this year. For the people who like burning their feet on sidewalks, there will be a new nonstop route from Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) to Phoenix. For skiers, the exciting news is that the new daily Austin-to-Bozeman route will now be year-round. This means that you’ll be one flight away from skiing at Big Sky or Bridger Bowl.

“Austin continues to be an important and growing city for Delta,” said Amy Martin, Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning. “By adding service to Phoenix and expanding our Bozeman route into the winter season, we’re giving customers in Austin even more access to top requested destinations while strengthening connections to key business markets across the West.”

The move is intended to grow Delta’s presence in the Texas market. Each of the major airports in the United States has hubs in Texas. American has a hub in Dallas/Fort Worth, Southwest has one in Dallas Love Field, and United has one in Houston. In addition, Southwest just announced today that it intends to make Austin a hub for its crew base. Delta is expanding its presence in Austin to differentiate itself from other major U.S. airlines and to establish its hub in the fastest-growing cities in Texas.
