This ski season has been a rough one for many ski resorts throughout the western United States, including several in the Pacific Northwest that typically see huge snow totals. Hoodoo Ski Area, which typically sees an average of 450 inches of snowfall in a ski season, has only seen 117 inches of snow since October 1st, 2025, and there’s been a fair amount of rain to make things even worse.
Unfortunately, Hoodoo has been forced to close once again due to the lack of snowfall. They could hypothetically reopen before the summer if a lot more snow comes through, but the forecast is looking mostly likely warm weather and rain for the near future. The good news is that Hoodoo was still able to host a sort of Winter Carnival before needing to shut down, and they really put on quite the show. Someone even managed to bust out the canoe, creating quite the pond skim spectacle.
Cheers to Hoodoo for making the most out of what they had. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a big snowfall in the coming weeks.
