New Hampshire — Deep snow in New Hampshire means that many have been able to get into the wilderness to explore this winter. It also means that wildlife can get stuck in hairy situations. While positve interactions between the two aren’t common, humans helped save a moose earlier this week.

WMUR reports that this week, a group of snowmobilers on their way back from lunch saw a moose trapped in deep snow. They checked their cell service to call New Hampshire Fish & Game, but they were in a dead zone. That’s when the people got to work, clearing snow away from the female moose. She was eventually freed and was able to get out. She reportedly wasn’t aggressive with her rescuers.

If you’re in cell phone range, New Hampshire Fish & Game recommends calling them for help. However, I think that the snowmobilers did the right thing, and it sounds like the deer was grateful.
