Killington, Vermont — Skier collisions can happen at Killington due to crowds and skiers/riders being on terrain they shouldn’t be on. There are also people who go way too fast despite knowing better, as in this viral video.

Two weekends ago, a clip from Reddit user No-Literature-9402 went viral. The video shows a collision between a speedy skier and a snowboarder. The incident occurred on the Great Northern trail, a cat track that goes from the summit of Killington to the base of Ramshead.

Most on Reddit agreed that the skier was in the wrong, as the downhill skier has the right of way. The main point of contention was the skier’s origin, due to his very boisterous accent. Some thought he was from fahhkin Medford, Massachusetts, while others argued he was from New York/Jersey. The guesses to his accent, you could say, were all over the place.

This video went viral on social media, including on the Facebook Killington Locals+ group. In response, Mike Solimano, the President & General Manager of Killington, released a statement on the Facebook page. The ski resort has reviewed the video and stated that the individual’s conduct violated the mountain’s Skier Responsibility Code. They are looking to find out who the skier was and block the man’s pass.

The situation is a good reminder to watch your speed, especially when you’re on a crowded cat-track trail like Great Northern. Hold the line!
