Jay, Vermont — Creating a summit sign is an excellent way for ski resorts to create a memorable photo spot for guests. Creating a new photo spot allows people to post on Instagram and share hashtags like #blessed and #nature. This is what Jay Peak has done with its beautiful-looking new summit sign.
Wood&Wood Signs and Design created the sign, which was installed earlier this month. The markers feature two important pieces of Jay’s past. There are two of the old lift towers from the Green Mountain Double. This fixed-grip double chairlift serviced the upper mountain for decades. It was replaced by The Flyer during the 1999-2000 season. Trail signs are also a part of it, and were reportedly installed this week. It’ll be a cool sign for guests, but not as epic as the LEGENDARY BACK BOWLS sign at Vail.
Jokes aside, this is an awesome addition to Jay’s summit, and I’m looking forward to getting some pics with these pieces of the ski resort’s history. By creating this spot, Jay Peak has made a destination that many will want to check out on their trips there.
Early-Season Jay Update
The Vermont ski resort has received nearly 100 inches of snow this month, leading to a remarkable early-season snowpack. Because of all this snow, Jay is scheduled to open on November 22nd and 23rd for a preview weekend. Around thirty trails and three lifts will be open.
They’ll close for several days, then reopen for their Day of Devoted event on November 28th. After that, it will operate daily for the 2025-26 season.
