Jim Ryan skis a summer line in the Tetons.

WYOMING – Normally when we think of the best time to ski a line, it’s in the dead winter when it’s covered in deep snow. But some lines are best approached in the exact opposite time of year, whether it’s because it’s safer or simply more fun.

Professional skier Jim Ryan captured this gnarly run in the Tetons, claiming that this 1,500 foot, double fall-line couloir is significantly more fun in the middle of July than it is in February. And frankly, we believe him.

It looks like he might have encountered a few rocks and chunks on the way down, but he still managed to hit the run with little problem the whole way down. Darn impressive run.
