Exciting news for you New Zealand skiers and snowboarders as Mt Hutt just announced they are opening in May for the first time since 2009. After an early season snowstorm Mt Hutt will begin spinning lifts two weeks ahead of schedule on May 31st.

Yup, two weeks early. If the weather plays ball, we’re dropping ropes on Saturday 31 May. Dust off the gear, cancel your plans, and start stretching those quads – this season’s kicking off with a bang. Subject to the usual mountain mood swings (aka weather). Stay tuned for the final call.”

Pending on weather, Mt Hutt will operate May 31st through June 2nd and again June 7th and 8th before opening daily on June 14th through their scheduled closing day of October 12th. Cheers!
