Pennsylvania grass skiing @ Kevin's Rope Tow Private Backyard Ski Area

When it comes to ultra exclusive ski experiences it doesn’t get any more elite than private grass skiing in Pennsylvania. The exact location of Kevin’s Rope Tow Private Backyard Ski Area is not public knowledge and can only be ridden by a handpicked selection of world class athletes. KRTPBSA is claiming the first lift service skiing in the East for the 2024/2025 season and we can not dispute it.

KRTPBSA was founded 20 years ago and only costs 25 cents per hour to operate:

“Here is my backyard ski area with a 775 foot rope tow with 230 vertical drop. Been doing this 20 years.

The rope tow drive came from Ski Denton who bought it from an old ski hill near Pittsburg. Towpro Lifts LLC helped me modify it to electric from a tractor PTO. I use a wand type safety gate to turn it off at the top and and the start button at the bottom so it only runs when there is some riding it.

It’s 72 seconds bottom to top. I use about 25 cents an hour running the 10hp motor that way and it saves a ton of wear on the rope. I’m in Pennsylvania where we average 60 inches of snow per season.”
