Park Rangers at Glacier National Park are reporting that emergency calls are up 40% over last year.

Just last week, Ranger’s responded to calls ranging from rescuing visitors from a car that drove off Going to the Sun Road to a bicyclist who crashed his bike after serving to avoid hitting a grizzly bear.

Search and rescue teams are also actively searching for a Whitefish man who has gone missing in the park.

Rangers are asking that visitors to the park use some common sense, i.e. wearing proper shoes, bringing an extra bottle of water, and having an extra set of keys so you don’t lock yourself out of your car.
