“Dangerously cold today at -25°F mid-mountain with -60°F wind chills. So, with a heavy nod to safety (for our guests & employees), no lifts will spin today & uphill traffic is closed.”

A wicked cold snap has forced the closure of Jay Peak Ski Resort in Northern Vermont. Jay will be issuing “snow checks” for any lift tickets purchased for today. An extreme wind chill warning is effect until 8am EST tomorrow so if you plan on heading to Jay make sure to confirm they will be open. Current temperatures could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes so be careful out there Vermonters!
