Well folks, whether you like it or not– consolidation continues to both unite and divide the ski industry, all of which depends on which side you’re on.

Likely in defense of the new Ikon Pass, Telluride Ski Resort is teaming up with Vail Resorts by joining the Epic Pass as a participating resort for the 2018/2019 season and beyond. That according to a recent press release.
The model follows more of a Mountain Collective setup, where Epic Pass holders will be granted 7 days of skiing and riding with zero blackout dates. Any tickets purchased after those 7 days of skiing/riding will be discounted at 50% off.
“Telluride is excited to join the Epic Pass and a collection of world-class mountain resorts that skiers and snowboarders around the world come back to time and again. This new season pass alliance is more comprehensive and longer term than prior pass alliances and will provide an incredible benefit for both Telluride guests and our resort community. Epic Pass skiers and snowboarders thrive on new, unique one-of-a-kind adventures. We offer an extraordinary big mountain experience, signature hospitality and guest service, and an authentic, welcoming mountain town surrounded by stunning scenery.” –Â Bill Jensen, CEO of Telluride Ski & Golf
On the flip-side, Telluride season pass holders will be granted 50% lift tickets at participating Vail Resorts. That deal seems a little stiff for Telluride locals who can expect a big uptick in visits to their home valley while receiving meager benefits outside of their home resort.
