With around 20 operating ski areas, Maine is among the top eastern states for skiers and snowboarders despite the often bitterly cold weather at many of the mountains. Plenty of the mountains are quite small, but they all have a lot of character to offer. Typically by April a majority of the ski areas in Maine have already wrapped up their winter season, and that stands true this year. Just 3 ski resorts are still open in the state, and they’ve still got a few weeks to go.
