Jackson, New Hampshire — It looks like ski season at Black Mountain isn’t stopping anytime soon.

In a blog post yesterday, Black Mountain General Manager Erik Mogensen detailed their plans for their second season, a.k.a. spring skiing. A 48-hour snowmaking push took place this week, and they plan to turn on the guns whenever possible. This could even mean making snow in May, which would definitely make for some great headlines.

The Black Mountain Glacier now exceeds 40 feet in some spots, which will help it stay open for a while. Lift tickets cost $49 from here on out, with $39 for people who show a season pass from another mountain. Their uphill route remains open, with the goal of staying open as late as possible. The goal is to make it to Memorial Day weekend, but no true closing date has been set.

Various events are planned for the next two months. April will see an 80s weekend, Champagne Fest, pond skims, an uphill/downhill race, and performances at Black’s new outdoor stage. May will see a Spring Fling Weekend, Reggae Fest, 70s weekend, plus fireworks and more festivities during Memorial Day weekend. Sunset skiing will be available each Saturday night until 7 p.m., with lift tickets costing only $15 starting at 5 p.m.

Currently, Black Mountain has 30 trails and 4 lifts open. For this weekend, the New Hampshire ski area will be open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Those will be the operating dates moving forward, except during April vacation week (April 20-26), when they return to 7-day operations.
