Bend, Oregon — Mt. Bachelor is heading into the hotel business.

The Bulletin reports that Mt. Bachelor has acquired the lease for the LOGE Bend hotel. It will be renamed to The Trailhead Lodge. While not exactly slopeside, it does provide one of the easiest ways for visitors to reach Bachelor. The 70-room facility has long been known as a great base camp for outdoor activities, such as hiking and skiing. It’s around a twenty-minute drive from the ski resort.

“It’s pretty much as close to the mountain as you can get and still be inside Bend city limits, which is key,” said Tim Neville of Visit Bend. “For visitors it’s fun and different to come back to a sizable town with lots of après action after a day of play up there and all that off-hill fun translates into real bucks for our local businesses, too. It’s a win-win situation.”

There’s an additional benefit of this acquisition for Bachelor, which is owned by POWDR. The ski resort will use a portion of the property to house its employees. Currently, Mt. Bachelor has an agreement with the Campfire Hotel to use some of their rooms for employee housing.

Some of the amenities of the hotel include an outdoor pool, a hot tub, a bar, free wi-fi, and free parking. There are also ample community spaces with fire pits where guests can hang out after a long day of adventures. Mt. Bachelor plans to host gatherings, such as concerts and season passholder parties.

“We’re incredibly excited about this new business venture and look forward to everything from year-round events, community gatherings, mountain bike rentals, and connecting with adventure seekers traveling to Central Oregon,” said Lauren Burke, who’s the Oregon ski resort spokesperson.

In terms of how the place is perceived, it has a 4.2/5 rating on Google, which is generally considered pretty good. However, there’s one TripAdvisor bro who saw some flaws with the prior concept:

“This hotel feels like if an instagram story of a moderately attractive man doing a cold plunge with a time of day stamped over it. It’s cute and trendy. But if you’re not the target demographic it doesn’t really hit. If you are a bro who’s identity is their outdoor activity, and you don’t plant to stay in your room much, then this place totally works. You can hang your bike in your room! If you’re looking for a place to put your bag after a day of hitting galleries, local cafes, and a walk through a city park you can also hang it in your room! On the bike hanger thingy…”

Great take, bro.

The hotel is currently closed for updates, but is set to reopen under its new name this summer.

Recent History Of Mt. Bachelor

The move is interesting because it seemed recently that POWDR was giving up on Mt. Bachelor. POWDR has been on a bit of a selling spree, selling Lee Canyon in 2023, Killington and Pico in 2024, and SilverStar in 2025. Additionally, Eldora Mountain Resort is in the process of being sold to the Town of Nederland. Mt. Bachelor was originally for sale as well. These moves were intended to help POWDR prepare to diversify its portfolio, which includes operating concessions at national parks.

However, POWDR decided against this, announcing in 2025 that it was off the market. The move to buy this hotel is the latest indication that POWDR intends to make Mt. Bachelor one of its main priorities.
