Despite getting a bit of snow and the mountain operations team doing everything they could to move it around and patch runs together, Heavenly Ski Resort in South Lake Tahoe, California is pulling the plug on the 2025/2026 ski season this Sunday.
“Saying this is a tough call is an understatement. We’ll be closing ski and ride season this Sunday, April 5th.” -Heavenly
Record high temperatures have melted key throughways at the iconic ski resort famous for its breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and it sadly has to call an end to its 70th anniversary season.
Instead of ending with a whimper, Heavenly is determined to throw an end of the year party that will send off the season right. Join the festivities at the Rockstar Bar this Saturday and Sunday where you can enjoy live DJs, patio dancing and spring sunshine after making some warm weather turn. Heavenly will continue operating Gondola sightseeing and activities through April 19th.
In a classy move, Heavenly also took the opportunity to point any skiers and snowboarders who are looking to keep riding towards their neighbor Kirkwood who just got pounded with a spring snowstorm and will be open until the April 19th.
“In case you missed it, our friends over at Kirkwood Mountain Resort just got 18 inches and it is firing. They’re staying open through April 19th, so head over there and keep your season rolling. Thanks for another great winter, see you this weekend!”
