Skier receives polite warning for excessive speed.

Colorado — There’s any number of ways an interaction can go between ski patrol and a guests who is perceived to be skiing recklessly and we really appreciate the way this situation was handled by both parties.

Skier Ryder Kubeldis immediately knew he might get popped after flying by a group of ski patrollers at Colorado’s Purgatory Ski Resort and came to stop shortly after passing them in anticipation of a reprimand. Instead excoriating the speedster, the patroller asked him with over the top politeness not to straight line this section of the mountain. To his credit, Kubeldis accepted the feedback and checked his speed.

Remember folks, ski patrol aren’t the fun police. They are looking out for your best interests and the safety of the others. When they give you a simple command, follow it and just be happy you have a professionals out there with your wellbeing in mind. Again, well done by both the ski patroller who delivered the warning in a calm, clear, and polite way and the guest who accepted it immediately and moved on.
