As the weather warms entering the spring skiing season and ski resorts turn on their hoses to prepare for pond skim events across the nation, I couldn’t help but remember this incredible act of alpine rescue professionalism at the annual Appalachian Mountain Resort pond skim.
The ski patroller not only rescued the floundering snowboarder who had taken a hard slam, she didn’t keel over in laughter as this his rather revealing wardrobe emerged from the icy water.
Cheers to this woman for maintaining her composure while making the save.
While the above ski patroller might have provided a fair bit of entertainment for the crowd up at the Appalachian Mountain Resort pond skim, Banff Sunshine Village actually organizes halftime performances during their pond skim events. Check out the lady Dinos of University of Calgary doing a synchronized routine in the icy waters of the Slush Cup pond skim pool. Incredible!
