Audience members anxiously watched the last tour stop of the 2026 season as every title was still up for grabs. The Freeride World Tour Xtreme Verbier Pro turned out to be a powder-filled competition this year, allowing the athletes to take advantage of the blower conditions to put down some genuinely insane runs.Â
The winners of the Verbier Pro were skiers Ben Richards and Lou Barin and snowboarders Mia Jones and Liam Rivera. These four pushed the limits of what can be done on snow, approaching terrifying exposure confidently with huge airs. This venue is truly one of the most amusing to watch and this year was no different.Â
Following the results of the competition points from the whole season were tallied to see who would take home each of the four titles as 2026 Champions. They were all up for grabs leading into the Verbier Pro as only three comps were able to run before this one.Â
For snowboard women, it was no surprise when Mia Jones took home the title of 2026 Freeride World Tour Champion. She has had an incredible rookie season and gained universal respect from the freeride community this year. Not only has she filled the shoes of her family legacy, but also created a name for herself as a completely dominant force in snowboarding.
Snowboard male Victor de Le Rue created FWT history this season by winning his fifth world title. He is the most decorated male snowboarder in tour history and this season only cemented his legacy further. He has pushed the sport forward for all participants and continues to be an inspiration to the freeride community.Â
Ben Richards snagged the ski male title after a stand-out season. With three first place finishes this season it was no surprise Richards came out on top. His racing background helps him dominate the field with precision runs and incredibly graceful skiing. He is certainly not afraid to take risks in each of his runs, which greatly paid off this season as he came away with the overall title.
For the overall female ski title, Lou Barin earned herself the win. With some incredible performances in her rookie season she was the one to watch this year. The Verbier Pro was her first top podium spot of the season and led her to win the overall championship.Â
This was quite the season for every athlete; plenty of rookies put down veteran-quality runs, and seasoned tour athletes continued to push the bounds of the sport. Who knows what we might see next year!
