Tough news for skiers and snowboarders hoping to hit the slopes at Telluride Ski Resort this week, as the resort announced Monday evening that today, Tuesday, March 31st, could very well be the last of the season.

According to the ski area, lifts will operate throughout Tuesday with limited terrain operations before temporarily closing. The resort might reopen for a closing weekend, bringing the closing day to April 5th, but that highly depends on weather conditions.

We are grateful to our on-mountain teams for their exceptional work maintaining operations throughout the season. The safety of our guests and employees remains our highest priority.” – Telluride Ski Resort

9 of 17 lifts are open at Telluride on Tuesday, serving 31 of 149 trails. Fortunately there is some snow in the forecast, increasing the chances of the resort staying open this weekend (though there’s still absolutely no guarantee).
