WARREN, Vt — A skier was pronounced dead at Sugarbush Resort over the weekend, according to Vermont State Police.

Authorities responded to the scene at about 3:26 p.m. Saturday. The skier reportedly fell on Stein’s Run at Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak. Investigators said the person fell and slid off the trail into a wooded area.

Ski patrol found the man unresponsive and brought him to the base of the mountain, where he was met by Mad River Valley Ambulance. He was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

Authorities said the death does not appear suspicious. An autopsy will be performed in Burlington at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The skier’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
