Colorado’s Keystone Resort is set to shut down lifts for the season after this upcoming weekend, with the final day of the season scheduled for April 5th. The ski area had several events scheduled to celebrate the end of the season, but poor conditions have unfortunately forced a change of plans.
This weekend’s scheduled Pond Skim and Rail Jam, two iconic and well loved events, have been cancelled. Unfortunately, the snow required for the events has essentially disappeared, leaving the resort with no choice but to cancel.
Those hoping to party away the season shouldn’t be too upset, as Keystone is still offering plenty of activities to end it in style. On Saturday, April 4th, the Summit House will host a DJ set from 11am-3pm, and a costume contest will go down at 1pm. Winners will be chosen for best food and group themed costumes.
For closing day, April 5th, the Summit House will once again host a DJ set from 11am to 3pm, and a costume contest will once again go down at 1pm. This time, winners will be chosen for best character and best family themed costumes. Plus to celebrate the close of the 55th season at Keystone, guests will be able to take advantage of killer $5.50 draft beers and hot dogs. Not a bad way to wrap things up.
