Harbor Springs, Michigan — One of the oldest chairlifts at Nub’s Nob is set to be replaced, which is bumming out people who have an orange crush.

Last Friday, Nub’s Nob announced that these are the final days to ride the old Orange chairlift. After closing for the season next week, Nub’s Nob will dismantle the Orange lift.

Opened back in 1979, the Riblet triple chairlift has been a staple at Nub’s Nob for decades. It serves Nub Nob’s South, which features beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert trails and glades. It was beloved by skiers, as a commenter said it made for the perfect cigarette break. That causes cancer, bro.

It will be replaced by a new fixed-grip quad chairlift manufactured by SkyTrac. No word yet on the color of this new lift, but it will have a tough act to follow.

If you’re looking to grab one of the old chairs, you may be in luck. As they did with the Green Chair, Nub’s will be selling 70 of the old chairs for $1,000 each. However, the catch is that those interested will need to enter the raffle, and winners will be randomly selected. If you want one, you’ll have to submit your info by April 3rd at 4 p.m. EDT. You can submit your name in the raffle drawing here.

Nub’s Nob remains open daily until April 5th.
