Massive congratulations going out to 21-year-old Slovenian ski jumping sensation Nika Prevc who just broke the women’s ski jumping distance record on her home turf. This week the valley under the Ponce Mountains has once again become the center of the world of ski jumping where, for the first time ever, women ski jumpers are competing on the Letalnica bratov Gorišek ski flying hill in Planica.

Prevc had already secured her third consecutive overall title before the competition began but there was much anticipation if she could break her current world record of 236 meters set in Oslo last March. It didn’t take long as Prevc soared an incredible 242.5 meters (795.6 feet) during an official training run and once again rewrote the history books:

Once again, congratulations to Nika. Absolutely amazing.
