The Boot Tan Festival (BTF) is the largest ski and snowboard festival designed to celebrate women and gender queer folks. This will be the sixth annual festival hosted by Buck Wild but with this season’s unfortunate snowpack, Sunshine Mountain has unfortunately already closed.
This won’t be stopping any of the fun though as building community is the focal point of the festival. The goal is to create a fun and safe space for women and nonbinary people to celebrate their love for the mountains.
With plenty of women owned booths, live music, fashion shows, and more Boot Tan Fest should provide everything as promised: a fun-loving community. While the ski resort now functions as just a venue rather than an activity, tickets are non-refundable and the BTF crew is working to ensure the experience is still an action packed weekend.
The festival also holds their incredibly unique event, the ‘Naked Lap’. Attendees are invited to strip down and ski a lap completely in the nude. It’s intended to embrace natural bodies and appreciate what they do for us. This is also the inspiration behind the name of the event and captures the true essence of the festival. It unfortunately won’t be a part of the 2026 festival.
Tickets are still available if you’re looking to celebrate community, courage, and fun in the mountains. Skiing is the means by which these folks come together but The Boot Tan Festival is about so much more.
