Aspen, Colorado — Disgraceful scene caught on video on the slopes of Aspen Mountain where a snowboarder involved in a collision physically assaulted an employee and tossed a speaker down the mountain.

Judging by the outfit worn by the chairlift operator, the incident looks to have taken place on or around St. Patrick’s Day. According to the comment section on the video the snowboarder hit multiple people on the slopes and then assaulted people in the liftline of Ajax Chairlift (Lift 3) including a uniformed ski pro and his uniformed wife. Ski patrol was en route to the scene when the snowboarder attempted to flee the scene.

To prevent the man from getting away with a hit and run situation, a quick thinking lift operator removed the man’s snowboard by force. During removal, the snowboarder kicked the lift operator in the chest. Once he was immobilized from riding away from the scene, the snowboarder had a bit of tantrum and tossed large speaker down the mountain.

According to multiple comments the snowboarder, who was reportedly intoxicated, was met by members of the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office at the base of the mountain where he handcuffed and escorted off the resort premises by the authorities. We can confirm the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office is “aware of the situation” but could not provide any additional details at the time of this publication.
