Zermatt is a truly incredible European ski area, with gorgeous views of the Matterhorn, fantastic ski trails, and plenty of high-end resort experiences. But when it comes to unique offerings, nothing quite beats the Glacier Palace.

The Glacier Palace is near the top of the resort, taking guests on an elevator ride 15 meters down into a glacier. From there, visitors can check out the inside of a glacier, view incredible ice sculptures, and generally enjoy the fascinating environment.

The glacier experience is open year round and takes around 45 minutes to explore. To get there, take the Matterhorn Express from Zermatt up to the Trockener Steg mountain station and continue with the Matterhorn Glacier Ride I to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise.
