Friends of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center is running its annual Spring Gear Giveaway through April 1st, with a fundraising goal of $30,000 to support avalanche safety and education across the state.
Colorado has seen historically warm March temperatures that have created dangerous and rapidly changing avalanche conditions. Despite a shallow snowpack, backcountry users continue to head into the mountains, making forecasting, awareness, and rescue preparedness as critical as ever heading into the spring season.
The giveaway features 24 prizes with a combined value exceeding $16,000. Every $20 donation earns one entry, and donors can direct their entries toward specific prizes they want to win. Donors giving $100 or more also receive a free Friends of CAIC x Nomadix towel.
Prize highlights include a $1,500 voucher for DM Vans, a $1,000 POC gift certificate, an Ortovox Avabag airbag pack, an Osprey Soelden Pro 32L airbag pack, a BCA Tracker S avalanche rescue package, Dynafit Blacklight boot and Black Diamond Impulse ski gift certificates, Spark R&D bindings, a Mammut safety package, a Colorado Adventure Guides rescue or backcountry ski course, Rab jacket gift certificates, Marker bindings, multiple Pomoca skin certificates, Arapahoe Basin day passes, and two nights plus four rounds of golf at Keystone Ranch.
Donations can be made at the Friends of CAIC website. Read the giveaway rules here.
