Aspen Snowmass has has unfortunately been forced to close one of their four mountains early for the 2025-2026 winter season.
As of March 25th, Buttermilk has closed. A few lifts on the mountain continue to operate on Thursday, March 26th, for the Shining Stars race and the Revolution Tour. Those lifts are for event use only, though, and no public access will be provided to the mountain.
Buttermilk Mountain Lodge is set to stay open for restrooms and lunch on Thursday and Friday until 2:30pm, and the bar will remain open until 4pm.
The other three mountains are set to close mid-April, with Snowmass and Aspen Highlands closing out their seasons on April 12th. Aspen Mountain will wrap up the entire season on April 19th, with a closing day gathering at the Sundeck.
Several lifts across the three mountains are currently running until 4pm, including the Village Express, Sheer Bliss, and Elk Camp Gondola on Snowmass, the Silver Queen Gondola and Ajax Express on Aspen Mountain, and Exhibition on Aspen Highlands.
